World Cup Heaven and Hell was a 2006 documentary that appeared on ITV as part of their build up to that year's World Cup. It examines various aspects of the tournament's history, most often focusing on the balance between the good and bad elements. The documentary was divided into five parts as follows.

Episode Dirty Rotten Scandals: Goes through the World Cup's most controversial moments.

Part 1: Zaire's one-of-a-kind perfomance at Germany 1974, with highlights from their games against Scotland, Yugoslavia and Brazil.

Also in part 1: Argentina's controversial 1966 World Cup experience, namely their last game against England in the semifinal.

Part 2: England-Argentina's contentuous knockout match in '66.

The clueless, mind-boggling refereeing of a wild Mexico-El Salvador match.

Highlights of the most controversial moments from USA 94 (Leonardo's elbow in a game against the US, Escobar's own goal, Maradona's ban).

Part 3: Escobar's own goal, Argentina vs Cameroon WC 90, Germany vs Holland WC 90, Kuwait vs France WC 82, Germany vs Austria WC 82

Part 4: Uruguay's unique style of football in display against Scotland in their final group match. Uruguayan players earns a red card in the first minute of the match.

Then it's Argentina '78, where a last-minute Brazilian goal was disallowed as the whistle had gone while the ball was in the air.

Also in '78, Argentina's suspiciously high scoring match against Peru.
